Picture-Taking Checklist
Run through this list before every capture. Consistent photos are the foundation of an accurate AI analysis — and of meaningful comparisons at follow-up.
Patient Preparation
Patient is not wearing a hat or headgear.
Patient is wearing minimal, tight-fitting clothing — loose clothes obscure landmarks.
Glasses, wristbands and watches are removed.
Patient is barefoot — no shoes or socks.
Hair is pulled back so the ears and neck are visible.
Environment & Canvas Setup
The calibration grid is placed in front of a plain wall.
There are no windows behind the calibration canvas.
The floor is level.
The grid forms a 90° angle with the floor.
The bottom gray border of the canvas is as close to the floor as possible.
The environment is well lit with even lighting — no strong backlighting.
Positioning & Distance
Tape markers are placed on the floor 8–10 ft (2.5–3 m) from the canvas.
The camera is positioned on the tape markers, at the same distance every time.
Patient stands as close to the grid as possible without touching it.
Patient Posture Protocol
Patient is standing in a natural, relaxed posture.
Patient is looking straight ahead at eye level (90°).
A pre-picture routine was performed — march in place, deep breath in and out.
Camera & App Alignment
The camera is positioned at the patient's hip level.
The lens is pointing at the patient's pelvis.
The camera is perpendicular to the grid.
The entire calibration canvas and the entire person are visible in the frame.
The blue and gray crosses in the app overlap perfectly.
The aligned crosses point to the patient's hips.
Why consistency matters
Comparative reports are only as good as the photos behind them. Keeping the same distance, height and lighting between assessments means measured changes reflect the patient — not the setup.
